Memora for Windows

Memora is a privacy-first, local-only desktop app that scans your chosen photo folders, automatically detects and groups faces, and lets you name the people it finds. Once a person is named, Memora instantly surfaces every photo they appear in - without ever modifying your original files unless you explicitly choose to copy, move, or organize them. Every scan, every face match, and every photo stays on your own PC: nothing is uploaded to the cloud or sent to any third-party face-recognition service. Memora also finds duplicate and near-duplicate photos and recommends which copy to keep, lets you group photos into albums, and can label GPS-tagged photos with nearby place names using a fully offline location dataset - so even that never requires an internet connection.

privacy

Your photos stay yours.

Memora processes your photo library and detects faces locally on your Windows PC. Your photos, face data, and thumbnails are never uploaded to a cloud photo service or sent to a third-party face-recognition provider.

The only time Memora contacts a server is a brief license check when you activate Memora Personal — your photos and face data are never part of that request, and Memora keeps working offline afterward using a securely cached license.

faq

Frequently asked questions

Is Memora really free?
Yes. Memora Free is a fully-featured version you can use for up to 500 photos — no time limit, no credit card, and no sign-up required.
Where are my photos processed?
Entirely on your own Windows PC. Memora's face-detection and recognition models run locally, so no photo, thumbnail, or face data ever leaves your device to be processed.
Does Memora upload my photos to the cloud?
No. Memora never uploads your photos, thumbnails, or face data to any cloud service or third-party face-recognition provider.
Does Memora require an internet connection?
Not for scanning, organizing, or browsing your photos — that all runs offline on your PC. The only network activity is a brief check when you activate or renew a Personal license; Memora keeps working offline afterward using a securely cached license.
What happens when I upgrade to Personal?
Your 500-photo cap is removed so you can index an unlimited library. Everything else — your existing People, Albums, and organization — stays exactly as it was.
Can I use Memora on more than one computer?
Yes — a Memora Personal license can be activated on up to 2 devices.
Can I organize my photos without modifying the originals?
Yes. Memora's Virtual organization mode lets you group and browse photos by person or album without touching your original files at all. Copy, Move, and Hard-Link modes are also available if you want Memora to reorganize files on disk, and only run when you explicitly choose them.
What happens if I uninstall Memora? Will my photos be deleted?
No. Uninstalling Memora only removes the application itself — it never modifies or deletes your original photos, and never touches your scanned library data.
